CBS radio led off every newscast on the radio yesterday with news of hearings before congress and the "revelation" that Pat Tillman was killed by friendly fire and the coverup that ensued. Does the group in charge have no shame? Is there no level they won't stoop to attempt to embarrass the president and military? They made sure to point out that the military made him out to be a hero, but in fact he was not.

How Dare They!!! His death was a direct result of action in Afghanistan. Where the shot came from is TOTALLY irrelevant. The US Congress and newsmedia (in particular CBS) owe his family and every soldier an apology.

I would pissed off too if they tried to use the death of a family member for political reasons. This cast a shadow on the integrity of our military. As far as trying to embarrass the president he is doing a fine job of that without anyones assistance.

Why did the military/top politicians have to embellish or even lie about the circumstances of Tillman's death and Lynch's capture? That was just an idiotice thing to do in my opinion.

As far as I'm concerned, anyone who serves is a hero. I know guys in the military who did things like vehicle maintenance, without ever being in a war zone or firing a shot, but they were proud of their work and were good at what they did. And their work helps every other unit work right. They're all heroes.

Friendly fire - who cares? If you've seen any video of combat in Irag or Afghanistan, with the way things happen so fast and furious, I'm amazed there aren't more accidents. It's not anyone's "fault," just part of combat as far as I can tell.

Thanks to all our service men and women!!
