I don't know what John's problem is. He had his bypass operation a couple of months ago and ought to be catching rather than chasing the girls by now. I've had hangovers more serious than that.

It was brought to my attention (Steve-RNR) that in the RodnReel Classifieds there is a 226 Avenger for sale in Florida.

Talked to the owner and learned that the boat was ordered in 2004 and delivered by the builder, John Pabst in August, 2005 (without owners' trailer). The owner put a "Contenintal" trailer under it and had the T-top put on in Florida. Originally rigged in Florida with a 2004 Suzuki 200 by John Pabst. The owner later put on a new 2006 Suzuki 4-S 250hp (25" shaft?).

Can vouch for the quality, workmanship, initial rigging, fitting, etc in the Avenger boat and think that the owner is willing to negotiate...still a good value for the asking price of $28K.

I do not know the owner nor have any association with the tranaction!Just totally sold on Avenger!!!!!! John Castelluccio, Jr.

The owner, e-mailed me his invoice for the cost of his Avenger 226 CC with alot of bells and whistles (both fresh/seawater washdowns, 8 ft. custom rod box/seat, electronics, jackplate, etc, etc, etc) for over $17,000. Also, scanned the Suzuki bill/invoice for the 2006 250 four-stroke-$19,000.+

Close to $37,000. for just the complete boat and motor. Did not list the cost of the dual axle aluminum trailer and the custom fitted T-top. His initial total cost should have been well over $42,000. John Castelluccio, Jr.

Made a phone call to John "Mr. Avenger" Pabst. Learned that his father (Brother) will be under-going exploratory lung surgery for cancer. The surgery is scheduled for this coming Monday. Please remember the senior Mr. Pabst in your prayers that all will be well! This family has recently been given many struggles. So far they have survived that which has been given them. I hope the best for the Pabst family!!! John Castelluccio, Jr.

Today, spoke to John Pabst, his father went into surgery around 8:00 AM. The lump on his side was deemed malignent/cancerous. The top of one of his lungs was removed. Mr. Pabst (Brother) was in a room for 4:00 PM. John said that his father was "up" and cognizant, but not complaining too much.

Our prayers seemed to have helped, but continue---NEVER ENOUGH PRAYERS.

I will go to Ochsner tomorrow morning ("9-11") to visit for a while and will update later...John Castelluccio, Jr.

The Pabst family are good people and I wish only the best for them. They have been through a rough time for the past 2 yrs or so, but have always kept a good attitude. Our prayers from up here in N. Miss are with them as they continue the good fight.

Just got back from Ochsner Hospital and visit with Brother and Mrs. Pabst. Seems as though all is going as expected. In fact, the physician/surgeon made his visit/round and stated that Mr. "Brother" Pabst was "ahead of schedule" based on his mobility and not complaining too much...he did have an epidural pre-surgery and was drining as expected. Mr. Pabst has a great positive attitude. The attending pyhsician stated that Mr. Pabst should be leaving the hospital by this weekend or maybe sooner. Mrs. Pabst is the motivator!!! She is a great, personable and "very down to Earth" lady...glad I got to meet her.

"DRREB" (Charlie Miller), Brother asked that you telephone him, if possible. The patient telephone service number is 504-842-3380 and Brother is in room #3065.

Anyone else should also feel free to telephone him and just say hey.

Talked with Brother Pabst last night and he is doing very well for 1 day post op. As always, he is upbeat and ready to tackle whatever is next. Amazing man and family. God bless the Pabst family and all my other friends here on RNR.

Brother is continuing to improve and expects to go home Sat. Mrs Pabst is really a driving force in that family and one of the reasons they are the type people they are. I plan to stop by and see them in Oct on the way to Empire.

Spoke to Mr. Pabst, still in hospital and should be released on Sunday, today-9-16-07. Mr. Pabst mentioned something about a 15-20 pound coconut cake soon to be delivered to them.

John has been staying with his father every night and said that "sleeping in a hospital is impossible" (most of us know that from time to time). Prayers still with you for your total recovery!!! John Castelluccio, Jr.

My wife does make a mean coconut cake and does love the Pabst guys a bunch. The cake may not weigh 20#, but it just might make someone gain that much, if eaten in 1 or 2 sittings! The hard part about getting them these cakes is sitting in the truck smelling the thing for 5 hrs without stopping and eating part of the thing.

I will have to admit that is a fine rig and great pics but....... it would be a much better pic with some trout all over the deck! Great boat bud. Glad you are enjoying it.

As per the boat's manufacturer (John Pabst) said I don't need them.

I have made several trips into Breton Sound/Black Bay in some serious waves.

After taking a butt whipping, "babying my boat" (running at 2500-3000 rpms)---finally, "learned" to push the boat into the 4000-4500 rpm range and was able to skim across the wave tops WITHOUT ANY SPRAY INTO THE BOAT. I was very, very surprised and satisfied!.

I still want to get the bow down another few inches. I have already purchased a set of Lenco tabs and awaiting to have John Pabst, boat manufacturer install them. He is finishing Mr. Joe's 252 Avenger w/300 HPDI and has some cosmetic work to do on Phil Robichaux's 252 Avenger---THEN, I am up for the final bell & whistle installation. Hopefully, this coming week???!!! John Castelluccio, Jr

John,
I thought the same thing...now I don't know what I would do without the trim tabs. John put them on mine last year and it really helps with the load.

Doc, I was there almost two weeks ago. Don't remember seeing it, only Mr. Joe's 252 white w/fantastic green metal flake, Phil Robichaux/s 252 and the 252 in the mold. Maybe, it was behind the plastic curtains in the sanding area. Do you know who it belongs to??? Did it have a deck cap???

Spoke to John this afternoon, should be able to install my tabs sometime next week. That weekend (Oct. 13-14), he is going to a boat show, I beleive in Florida. John Castelluccio, Jr.
