Drreb--You were right! There was more to this story. As I understand it a motor was fastened to the transom without a backing plate and the mounting bolts pulled through. Obviously, it was not a motor that had been installed by Avenger.
JOHN C--You were right! Not a hint of a "Thank you, John P" that you alluded to earlier.

I`ve been discussing a motor for my 252 avenger soon to be started. Has anyone ridden in a boat of comparable length with a 300 suzy or yammaha? I kinda lean toward the suzuki due to price, but yamaha seems to have a better service available in lowwer Plaq parrish. Either one should move that sucker pretty well, don`t you think?

Charlie, Mr. Joe N. is the most recent owner of a new Avenger 252. He put on the Yamaha 300 HPDI (30" shaft) due to a special offering by Yamaha. Have not talked to him in over a month but if need be, telephone me (check my bio) and I will give you his number with his permission of course!!! John Castelluccio, Jr.

Drreb You can go out in mine pretty much anytime you want and see for yourself how it runs. After all, my first time out in an Avenger, demonstration wise, was in yours.

I think the Avenger boats are the best bang for the buck! I worked over there for awhile helping rig the boats and John is very precise how he wants them done. No corners are cut and top quality products are always used. He is the only other person I know of that lines up all the phillips head screws the same way. I wish the best for this company! Not many local boat builders anymore.

DA GAME IS OVER. He still didn't answer all of my questions!!!!
MAYBE, he might learn to have a transom plate installed (his fault) before starting to make disparaging remarks about the quality of his boat.
For the record---all paperwork, old orders, new orders and contact telephone numbers were lost in the Avenger shop. I know that for a fact, because I climbed into the shop days after the storm and weeks before the owners returned. John Castelluccio, Jr.
NOW ON TO BETTER THOUGHTS....I meant-'Now on to better thougths'! Hate those ALL UPPER CASE REPORTS AND mis-spellings. Tootaloo.

Noboat, John C, and Tiger.....I`m looking at the yamaha 300 4-stroke as well as the suzuki 300 4-stroke. The weight of the thing shouldn`t be a big deal on a 252 and using trim tabs and a jack plate should correct any shallow water hole shot difficulties. What do yall know about service for the suzuki in south Plaq?

Charlie, sorry I am only answering you now...could not stop laughing at a "LENGTHY-I HAVE BEEN MISUNDERSTOOD BECAUSE I AM THE VICTIM" post.
No, I do not know of any Suzuki shop(s) in question. Maybe, you could telephone Capt Rorison. I am he sure he would give his input into your situation. John Castelluccio, Jr.

Here we have a thread that has broken down into a "He said - She said" argument that serves no purpose. We have one side defending their friend, and the other feeling that he has been slighted. At this point we all know two things. 1. Avenger has a great product and they are great folks. 2. Unless you become a personal friend and have some methods outside what would be a normal business communication chain, they are very difficult to do business with.
This argument needs to die (or be killed). |

THE LATEST FROM THE AVENGER SHOP-HADN'T SPOKEN TO JOHN P. SINCE THANKSGIVING!!! Quite a surprise to hear from him...he is by himself working on Rick Ullo's 253 center console. Color-metallic orange. Even Mr. Joe thinks it will look better than his metallic green. John is working on the decks and coming up with a new deck design. Next 25 ft. boats are for Joe's Landing, Lafitte, LA and Drreb's (Charlie) 253. John hopes to be open full time with a worker or two assisting him, maybe by the end of this year. He is only working on one boat at a time AND serving past customers...says that how he feels since heart surgery dictates his working hours.

Went to the Avenger Shop today...first time in close to three months. As usual, John was busy-working on the orange metal-flaked 252. Got to say it, it looks very, very nice.
John is thinking of putting smaller "Team Avenger" decals more towards the stern...the color has yet to be determined by the owner. This boat will be center consoled, live well in front deck section (instead of being attached to the console) and a second live in stern area. John has
Stayed about an hour, his dad "Brother" is trying to get rich going to the casinos (Tunica Hills, MS?) playing the nickle slots. John looked healthy +20 pounds. He added that he will soon start working to complete the mold for his 206 Avenger (20.5 ft.). John Castelluccio, Jr.
