Frank and John, The rebar concept certainly wouldn't hurt, but I can tell you from experience, all expandable foam has a propensity for adhesion, especially to itself and it doesn't have to be "squeaky clean". One of the biggest concerns on this job would be to keep the limber holes clear for proper drainage under the seat. I'd lay sections of 3/4" PVC pipe in the bilge before starting the foam job
Fret Not, today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday! |

A bunch of years ago, in Chalmette, my neighbor refoamed his seats, but made small drain holes using PVC pipe...his were too small and clogged up whenever a shrimp/sinker was dropped in the bilge and it clogged up. Thinking about that, may want to use at least 1"ID-diameter pipe. John Castelluccio, Jr.

no doubt about it, 3/4" was to be considered a minimum...some flat boat seats are so close to the bottom, that's about all that'll pass under the seat in the corrugations of the bottom

John,
I just scheduled a trip of Friday. Anticipating a serious bite on the falling tide with this moon phase. God help those trout if we find some pogies along the way, otherwise we'll drown some croakers

I fish from a boat, very close to the beach, able to cast into the first break if conditions permit.

MIKE aka Secret Formula---Will definitely do that...John Castelluccio, Jr. 504-481-1344
We (5) are taking our annual "Parousse Cruise" to Grand Isle this coming Saturday...visit Dean Blanchard (bring some bread and donuts) and get some shrimp and drive around taking in the sights, checking area of where old camp was (end of Foster Rd. Judge Ganachaux)) and stop at a few friends camps on Laura Ln., Carmen Ln. and Norah Ln. (Sheriff Wayne)! On way back, stop at Spahr's for a bite to eat and a cold one!
MIKE---KEEP IN TOUCH...John C.

John,
How was the island? I ran the face Friday on my way to Four Bayou and it looked great from the boat, except for the beach erosion around the water tower.

VERY strong winds (ENE 12-18 kts)...totally unexpected. Water was dirty from Livingston eastward. Extremely crowded at Bridgeside...had to park in the new lot on northern side of LA 1. We did not fish much...short boat ride due to limited time on Grand Isle. Got shrimp from Dean---talked with him over an hour, stopped to talk to Sonny, his wife, daughter and her husband...on Curralt Ln. To to the sheriff's camp on Norah Ln. and spent some time on Foster'sLn. Just got back from a cancer benefit for a close friend of mine. Might lay low in the morning...John Castelluccio, Jr.
