Here are links to two more ethanol test kits from "Fuel Testers". These are a little more expensive than the ones on Ebay.
Link: http://www.fueltestkit.com/order.html ($24.95 + $6 ship)
Link: http://www.fueltestkit.com/quikcheck.html ($10.95 + $6 ship)
The second one is advertised as a "quick check".

Yes, John. The one from Ebay is a simple test. It is a tube with calibration marks on it. You just add water to a certain line, then add gas to another line, then stopper and shake. It is based on the premise that ethanol in the gas, if present, will migrate to the water layer and the water/ethanol lower layer will increase. The calibration marks on the glass tube tell you how much ethanol is present. Pretty simple. Do need a small plastic container to put the gas into to pour into the tube.

I got my ethanol testor in. It is only a test tube with a sleeve and calibration marks on the side. Just add water to the indicated line (the bottom of the layer line should be on the line), then the rest with gas to the mark (near the top of the tube). Then, cap tight and shake. Let it "phase separate" for about a minute and the interface between the gasoline and water/ethanol layer tells you how much ethanol is present. It may read a little low due to small drops of water clinging to the walls of the tube.
Best to carry a bottle of water in your car/truck for testing. I'm going to try a test tube to put the gas into to transfer to the testor tube. I'm afraid to get gas on the "calibration sleeve" for fear it will dissolve the black lettering.
