Aluma Marine Custom Boats are designed in the Louisiana tradition with the serious sportsman in mind. These 100% aluminum welded boats are built by professional boat builders committed to a quality product and client satisfaction.

Darren Bolotte and Chad Perrin are the owners of Aluma Marine Custom Boats. Their boats are custom designed and built to comply with each individual owner's desires, effectively making the conversion from dream to reality as seamless and aggravation-free as possible.

Aluma Marine can design and construct aluminum vessels of any type, including boats used for family outings, fishing, hunting, water-skiing, or work (see models, below). Just ask Autry and Andy Dufrene, the owners of American Tugs. The Dufrene's have owned American Tugs since 1962, and the company currently has a fleet of five 2200 hp push boats at their location, 1304 Peters Road in Harvey. Autry's first-experience with boat building and metal working for many years has essentially made him an expert in boat building, and Autry chose Aluma Marine to build a boat for his personal enjoyment.

Talking with Autry you can sense the driving spirit that led to American Tug's core principles. He seeks to strengthen and preserve the values, visions, and traditions which form the foundation of his family's enterprise, while always focusing on his faith; Autry requested that I let our readers know "all of this I would have lost if not for being born again, a new birth."

Autry has owned many boats over the years, and currently owns a 47' Bertram. When shopping for his new boat, he knew that he wanted it to be made of aluminum, the material of choice for the commercial boating industry and the serious sport fisherman. Throughout the years, the Dufrenes have learned how treacherous Lake Pontchartrain can become at a moments notice.

After making his decision to purchase an aluminum boat, Autry commissioned Chad and Darren to build a twenty-seven foot Aluma Marine Sportsfisher, "Granny's Taxi", named for his bride of 35 years, Andy.

"Taking the grandchildren skiing is such a joy as Granny's Taxi is a dream to operate", says Andy. She is thrilled with her husband's gift to her, a boat that inspires confidence and unmatched maneuverability, specially designed to take all her kids out on the lake. The rest of the Dufrene family is also thrilled with Granny's Taxi. The only controversy was caused when Andy requested that the boat match the color of her home on the Rigolets. She was out-voted by her family, all of whom insisted that Pepto-Bismol Pink wasn't an acceptable color.
