GREAT LATE MAY FISHING CONTINUES
This past Saturday and Sunday I had the pleasure of guiding good friends and customers Mr Trent Walker, his brother Randy, and his brother in law Ricky. We were concerned about the weather with Alberto in the neighborhood but thankfully we were blessed with good conditions. The trip was a good one with limits of reds hitting the box with some puppy drum both days. Fresh shrimp under corks and gold spoons were what the fish wanted to bite. Of course the fellowship with good friends makes the time on the water even better. Many thanks again to Trent, Randy, and Ricky for all they do for our service and for 2 great days on the water. Cant wait till next time!
On Monday I had the pleasure of guiding Mr Mark Matthisen and his wife who had fished with us a few years ago with another good customer, Mr Tim Duhe’ and his wife. The Matthisen’s came back on a good day to fish especially if you like to catch redfish and drum, 2 very fun species of fish to catch. Oh yeah, they are fine on the table as well! For the first time in a while we managed a limit of both which is an excellent day on the water in my book! Lots of action on keeper sized fish and undersized was the case on this day and all on board were worn out from reelin’ em in. Fresh shrimp under a cork was the ticket! Many thanks again to the Matthisens for their return business and for supporting our service. I look forward to future trips with this couple and hopefully more of their family members, good people for sure!
Yesterday I had the pleasure of guiding good friends and customers Dwight and Mary Johnston and their guest Father Jeremy Lambert who is a Legionary Priest and an outdoorsman who likes to hunt and fish. We were blessed again with good weather and fishing on this day. The box was full at the end with a full limit of redfish, 11 pretty puppy drum, and 10 bonus speckled trout. The crew enjoyed part of their catch prepared for them at Jan’s which I’m sure was enjoyed greatly.
What made the day even more special was the mass that was celebrated by Father Jeremy at our camp in the afternoon. He also blessed the house for us and the whole experience was an honor to be a part of. It was a day that I will remember always! Father Jeremy and all members of his order of Legionaries are doing such needed work with the youth and all ages who need to be led in the right direction to Christ.
Many thanks again to the Johnstons for all that they do for our service and for being great friends and also to Father Jeremy for his gift to us after the fishing trip. It was a very memorable day for sure to thank our God who gives us everything that is good in our lives!
