Fishing Log App Mike,  great idea about an app that would make it easier to document our successes and failures on the water. Here are some ideas of what to include: Predicted tide range Moon phase Predicted Wind direction/speed Predicted Fishing Rating Sky clarity (cloudy, partly sunny, sunny) Air temp GPS position of each stop Water temp @ each spot Atmospheric pressure readings throughout the trip Salinity @ each spot Water clarity @ each spot was water moving? was bait present/visible from the surface? Document # and type fish caught Bait & technique used There are several apps out there, but I don’t have any experience with any of them.  Most seem to be by/for fresh water fisher persons.  If there was one developed by and for experienced salt water anglers from around our “Sportsmans Paradise”, it would surely be much better. Curious to hear what others have to input…

Captain Jack Throws Back 2-3 LB trout!

(504) 858-0484
Capt. Jack fished today with Bobby Crane and his wife. They left the dock at Sweetwater Marina on Delacroix Island at about 7:30 and made it back by 11 with 53 Specks, 2 Drum, 3 Reds, 2 Bass and 1 Freshwater Cat. A nice little Delacroix mixed bag and live shrimp was definitely the winning ticket. Capt. Jack said that without live shrimp their haul for the day would have been much lower. The winds were tough today and looking to be tough for the next couple of days. Tomorrow Capt. Jack is fishing with Capt. CT Williams of the BigFish Report which airs on Fox 8 News at 9 on Thursday night. Be sure to tune in too get some fishing tips from the pros. Keep your eye on the weather heading into the weekend because the fishing is pretty good right now. We have plenty of fresh, lively shrimp for tomorrow and we would love to see you. So come on down to the second launch on Delacroix Island, Sweetwater Marina, and let Capt. Jack, Mr. Ronnie, Tony and Jessie get you started. They will put your boat in the water, put you on the fish, and when you return with an ice chest full of fish they’ll clean ’em and bag ’em for you. And while you are here ask to check out our lodging. It’s the best deal in Delacrolix – sleeps 6, free launch, kitchenette, cable, wifi. BBQ pit – all for just $159 a night. Just wake up and fish. Whatever you need to make your fishing trip a success, we probably have it in our baitshop, including maps and helpful tips from Mr. Ronnie and Tony and pick up a Sweetwater sweatshirt too keep you warm. Anything we can do to help make your trip fun, successful and safe – just ask. We would love to see you at Sweetwater Marina, the marina that loves their customers. And remember we are the second launch. If you are interested in a charter or lodging please call 504-342-2368. A smalll deposit will hold your reservation. Hope to see you soon.
