Team Jo-Jo Just wanted to share a fishing, (catching intel to let know it is happening out their)  intel from Big Pablo & Big Adrian had a nice trip today, came in with a mix bag of Redworries, Stripe Snappers, and 35 (NMR) Silverwonders, fishing the Lake Borne & MRGO area on both live shrimp & lures. Lures of choice Matrix Shad Shrimp Creole matched up with Matrix Shad ¼ oz. head fishing the bottom. Seems these Team Jo-Jo members have found a honey hole, as this be their second trip with good results fishing areas mention above. Good Fishing Team Jo-Jo & Oneofthepack

Lake P ????????????????

5049154896
TEAM JO-JO: Today’s trip was a window of opportunity, busy week it be, texted Big PJ indicated there was a chance to go Wednesday, count me in was his reply, now have a first mate for trip to Lak P to chase the elusive Silverwodners aboard the Bay Flat Jr. SIGNS: Saw one of the guides (forgot his name, but his dog name is Jake) Tuesday as me rode around in the AM, he be going out to the trestles to fish with a crew, asked him how the water looked good says he, says me, me be out their tomorrow and check it out. Meet w/CPA not too good a year for Familyofthepack, but it was the best year of me life until the next one. Loveoftheapck & Oneofthepack went to the movies to see Vice, after 2 plus hours still don’t know what they talking about, did not see anything about fishing, saw a little hunting, but no fishing, might have helped if they had a fishing scene in it, me guess me slept through those. On the way home decide to buy a car for Loveofthepack, made the deal in about 45 minutes Slept like a baby all night Up at 5AM for our 6:15 meet up, had to prep the Bay Flat Jr and rig some rods before me picked up Big PJ Hooked Bay Flat Jr to FORD transporter, off me went Big PJ standing outside, e be as anxious as me to get at the Silverwonders Had to make a pit stop for some go juice, we in the water by 6:45, and in the water by 6:53, hate them long boat rides. Yamaha Night Machine started up in 3 pulls, very good sign Saw the black aluminum hull out, that be a real good sign Than the green skiff came out, that be another real good sign. CONDITIONS: Perfect, me mean perfect in every way, doesn’t get any better than this, no sir. North wind 4-6, shifted to east wind 4-6 MPH, perfect little ripples on the water Partly cloudy, sun came out and warmed us up felt good on me face. Cool temps Jump suite stayed on all morning Water level down 10-12” Water temp 51F me guess Tide falling all morning, slow at first picked as the morning went along. Water clarity on a scale of 1-7 was a 7 plus, out by mile marker 174 it was a 4 plus Not many boats out and about, saw 4-5, 3 of us trolling the other 2 cast & retrieve Not many Loons out No bait in the water and/or around the pilings No trash on top of the water, not like last time when we caught some fish. TECHNIQUE / STRATEGY: Be safe Have fun Put some run time on Bay Flat Jr. and Yamaha Nightmare Machine This be me daily therapy for ALL me aliments Gather Intel for future trips, and to share with fisherperson, (on rodnreel.com) to help assist them in their choice of areas to fish, lures to use and presentation of same to the elusive Silverwonders. See if the Silverwodners wanted to come out and play Learn what learn can of fishing & catching in Lake P Try out me new Captain seat Find a spot # with the seven fundamentals / criteria of catching:          WIND AT YOUR BACK: (Wind a none factor, not strong enough to impact casting, trolling or bait fishing.) MOVING WATER: (Perfect start of a falling tide, fell all morning, current was strong, pilled the lures close to the pilings real quick, you had to increase the angle of the boat vs. pilings to keep them from hooking up on the pilings.) WATER CALRITY: (PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) HOLDING FISH: (This be criteria that was our challenge of the day, no fish, no holding.) PATIENTS: ( (4) hours of trolling, not a bite, not a nibble, not a hit, our only action was that of the pilings, and they felt real good at that.) SKILL: (Tried all me knew, used lures me never used before, fished the east side of the trestles, which me don’t like to do, tried jigging the head right in front and alongside of the pilings, whatever skill was need today, we lacked it in a big way.) LUCK: (One fisherperson never got to leave the dock, his motor would not start, but Yamaha Nightmare Machine did, what more luck you can ask for.) Anchor up cast & retrieve slowly along the bottom, with a twitch every now and then, tight lining…………………………………DID NOT TRY Drift with the wind cast & retrieve (DWWC&R)……………DID NOT TRY Oak River Troll (ORT)………………..DID ONT TRY Reverse Oak River Troll (RORT) ………..DID NTO TRY Oak River Skim (ORS) ……………DID NOT TRY Cork ……..DID NOT TRY Lake P Troll (LPT)…………….NOTHING Dead bait………NONE Live bait…………………NONE ·      LURE DU JOURE: 3” H&H Purple Beetle, matched up with H&H ¼ oz. round white head with gold hook…………….DID NOT TRY 3” Chartreuse Glow Beetle, matched up with H&H ¼ oz. round white head w/gold hook………….DID NOT TRY Matrix Shad Lemon Drop, matched up with H&H ¼ oz. round white head w/gold hook……………DID NOT TRY Matrix Shad Lemon Drop, matched up with H&H 3/8 oz. round white head w/gold hook……………DID NOT TRY Matrix Shad Lemon Drop, matched up with H&H 1/2 oz. round white head w/gold hook……………DID NOT TRY Matrix Shad Lemon Drop, matched up with 3/4 oz. round lead head …………NOTHING Marker 54 hard plastic shrimp……….. Lots of practice of joining power pro to mono leader Spending the morning on the water with one of the best fisherperson me know Big, PJ, he reminded me that our last time he skunked me, well seems we both got skunked today. Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one. FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY: The only thing me saw caught today, was a couple Loons had some minnows in their beak, so they be fisherbirds of the day. SUGGESTIONS: Today was perfect day, you could not have specified, / design a better day and conditions of that day, it was perfect, prefect, perfect in every way. So me suggestions is to all you fair weather fisherpersons, don’t wait for the perfect day to come to go fishing, subscribe to our motto, “YOPU GOT TO GO TO KNOW’ and know this we have caught more fish on days when others would not dare to go. PONDER OF THE DAY: No Déjà vu fishing trips please…I Don’t want to go through that again O & A: Is the meaning of life the same for Fishermen & Fisherpersons? TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem: Looks like Saturday before me back on the water, stay tune, more disappointments to come. Good Fishing Team Jo-Jo & Oneofthepack

Mission Possible Delacroix Way

5049154896
TEAM JO-JO: It been awhile since me been to Delacroix, so me called me first mate Big Don to see if he wanted to challenge the weather, water, and lack of fish down in our Disney Worilds known as Delacroix Island Monday, yessum says he, ready when you are. SIGNS: Saints come from behind to win, now me feel like anything possible, even catching fish down at Delacroix. N.W. wind 10-15 mph, me concerned about having any water to fish in, me begging to wonder about me decision to go. Our meet up schedule for 5:30 AM at Team Jo-Jo’s official meeting place, Waffle House in Chalmette Had some extra gear today, me brought me (2) brand new boat seats that Santa gave me for the Bay Flat Sr, just want to give a shout out to Santa, whomever he / she be, they look good and feel good, thanks. Finally, just west of the Hwy 90 & 11 junction me saw me first rabbit, (it has been over a year plus since me saw one) he came from my right, ran to the center of Hwy. turned at white dotted line in middle of Hwy. Me swerved to the left, ran over him, but did not make contact, me looked at me side mirror, me could see him high tailing it across the Hwy to the south side, safe and happy, this be a great sign. Not any boats on Hwy, gas stations, and/or boat launches, this not a good sign at all. Mage me way into the Waffle House, got me usual, big bowl of grits and coffee, me was early so me decided to get something to eat to curb me hungry on the water. Loaded up all Big Don gear into the FORD transporter, off we go. Passed on McDonnel, and Last Stop food store, once again not much activity at either location Check point Able, water level looking good, a little high if anything Check point Bravo, no water moving at Reggio canal, this not a good sign Arrived at the home of the Bay Flat Sr, first thing me do was to swap out the boat chairs give her a little class, me think she also needs a face lift from bow to stern. Loaded all our gear, turn the key and the Yamaha Dream Machine fired right up, she no cold nature girl. Motored down to Lionel’s for some go juice & ice, went in to pay and Big Joan says Tubby, (that be me) where you going?????? Fishing says me, got a chuckle out the 3-4 men in the room along with an eye roll from Big Joan………Note me said fishing, did not say catching. All wanted to let me now it was going to be cold out there, lie me like says me, my kind of weather. Off to Spot # 18 on the map to start our day, this spot perfect for a strong N.N.W. wind. CONDITIONS: Perfect N.W wind steady as she blew at 16-18 MPH Overcast cloudy morning Cold temps, jump suite not enough, put rain coat on to keep the wind off me, and to stop it from passing right through me, cold, cold, Water level up 4-6” Water temp 47.8F than 50.1F Tide falling, not sure if was a tide or the wind moving the water Water clarity on a scale of 1-7 was a 2 plus, bad, bad, bad No boats out, none, (we be the lone wolf) not even any commercial boats, all me could think and say was me real glad me have Yamaha Dream Machine, and how me had that warm fuzzy feeling, knowing me have Seatow covering me back. Did me mention it was cold   TECHNIQUE / STRATEGY: Be safe Have fun Put some run time on Bay Flat Sr. and Yamaha Dream Machine This be me daily therapy for ALL me aliments Gather Intel for future trips, and to share with fisherperson, (on rodnreel.com) to help assist them in their choice of areas to fish, lures to use and presentation of same to the elusive Silverwonders. Fish spot numbers that where favorable with the N.N.W wind Try new spots that where compatible with N.N.W wind Challenge mother nature see if we could find the combination to the Redworries honey hole Try to find at least one elusive Silverwonder Dance with the Redworries Learn what learn can of fishing N.W. wind Very, very low expectations of catching today, but our odds tripled when me saw the rabbit. Find a spot # with the seven fundamentals / criteria of catching:          WIND AT YOUR BACK: (Fished with bait, wind not much of a factor, other than it made us cold, and uncomfortable MOVING WATER: (Going in the direction of out, not sure if it was a tide, or just the wind pushing the water, but in any case we had plenty moving water, moving best where the bayou / channel choked down.) WATER CALRITY: (Not good, not good, looking worst and worst each time me go out. Hope River will drop and the Mardi Grass pass will stop dumping river water into Delacroix area.) HOLDING FISH: (Spot  60 Caught all Redworries right their PATIENTS: ( Had / hit a few dry holes first, but those where early, and the suspense kept us interested and always looked forward tot eh next ole, but once we hit Spot # 60 B it was on, on, on on.) SKILL: (Knowledge, just started fishing spot # 60 B may be 3 years ago, one year it was a gold mine, but that was it. However the last time out me caught a Redworrier on an H&H purple beetle, on a lure me said, so decided to give it a try this time, very good move it be.) LUCK: (We did not have to call SeaTwo, but the true luck we had that option to do so if needed) Anchor up cast & retrieve slowly along the bottom, with a twitch every now and then, tight lining…………………………………NOTHING Drift with the wind cast & retrieve (DWWC&R)……………DID NOT TRY Oak River Troll (ORT)………………..DID ONT TRY Reverse Oak River Troll (RORT) ………..DID NTO TRY Oak River Skim (ORS) ……………DID NOT TRY Cork ……..DID NOT TRY Lake P Troll (LPT)…………….N/A Dead bait………NONE Live bait…………………ALL FISH CAUGHT WITH DEAD BAIT, SHRIMP LOOKED LIKE GRASS SHRIMP, BUT THE Redworries did not mind, me glad Big Don brought them along with us.) ·      LURE DU JOURE: 3” H&H Purple Beetle, matched up with H&H ¼ oz. round white head with gold hook…………….NOTHING 3” Chartreuse Glow Beetle, matched up with H&H ¼ oz. round white head w/gold hook………….DID NOT TRY Matrix Shad Lemon Drop, matched up with H&H ¼ oz. round white head w/gold hook……………NOTHING Matrix Shad Lemon Drop, matched up with H&H 3/8 oz. round white head w/gold hook……………DID NOT TRY Matrix Shad Lemon Drop, matched up with H&H 1/2 oz. round white head w/gold hook……………DID NOT TRY Matrix Shad Lemon Drop, matched up with 3/4 oz. round lead head ……………N/ Marker 54 hard plastic shrimp……….. We fishing in 3 to 3 ½ feet of water, tide going right to left. AREAS / SPOTS / NUMBERS OF THE MAP FISHED: #18C, 17A, 20, 21, 22, 60, 60B (12)r, stopped fishing at 10:00 AM, turned the Bay Flat Sr west than north for a real 30 minute bumpy ride back to her home slip. OUR REWARDS: Lived to fish another day (0) Silverwonders, they still very elusive (12) NMR Redworries (2) Bottoms No popped lines (1/2) Bushel of grass (2) tangled lines Cold fresh air for our lungs Air was much more cool & fresh going 25 mph, into a 16 mph head wind, what a thrill, what a feel Windblown face look Windblown hair look Confirmed our “YOU GOT TO GO TO KNOW” theory / motto Got plenty salad ingredients for Big Lucy’s salads Seeing all the ducks, they were out in full force, flock after flock getting up as we ran around, season must be closed!!!! Seeing huge flocks of BIG white Pelicans, must have been 50 tom75 white Pelicans along the shore line in different areas. Installed & got to use me new boat chairs Be on a journey with one of the best fisherperson me know, that be Big Don, he was a very eager, optimistic, undaunting fisherperson today, down to the last minute of not catching anything, not even a bite, but fish on did he!!!!! Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one. FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY: No contest, Big Don caught the first & last, he also caught (7) of the Redworries, he was on a Redworrier roll, not for him Oneofthepack would have threw the towel in at the Waffle House, Big don be fisherperson of the day with exclamations points!!!!!!!! SUGGESTIONS: Ye who waits for fair weather day to come out and fish, can only wish and not experience the bliss. PONDER OF THE DAY: I tell you, fishing in this world being a little crazy helps to keep you sane. O & A: Doesn’t “catching the unexpected” make the unexpected expected? TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem: Nothing plan, we just going to wing it like the ducks do.   Good Fishing Team Jo-Jo & Oneofthepack

Friday & Lake P

5049154896
TEAM JO-JO: After a little 5 ½  hour road trip today, and a stop or too along the way, me made it home just in time to plan an evening trip on Lake P. When you need a first mate quickly, who you goanna call, Big PJ be the one. One call that’s all, me popped the question, yessum says Big PJ, pick you up at 3 says me. This be the quickest me ever put a trip together in a long time, pursued it with the hopes of some BIG girls that wanted to join us for a sun set viewing on Lake P. SIGNS: Needed some relaxing time Bay Flat Jr was loaded and ready to go she always be on standby for a quick outing 3 PM meet up, Big PJ 3 minutes late, me tell him we don’t have much time, darkest comes quickly this time of year Had one other boat launched, me felt good about this, we not the only nuts trying to go fish this evening Yamaha Nightmare Machine was just that took 10-12 pulls to get her started, cold nature lady she be, but once you got her hot, she good for all day. 3:16 PM we in the honey hole, trolling away along the trestles CONDITIONS: Perfect East wind 8-10 MPH steady all evening 5 to 2 foot rollers coming through the trestles, real nice it be Sunny & clear Cool temps, jump suite much appreciated Water level down 10-14” Water temp 56.0F Tide rising all evening , we could see our lines working away from the trestles Water clarity on a scale of 1-7 was a weak minus 3 somewhat clear but very sandy looking We had the whole Lake P to ourselves, we could troll anywhere we wanted and not be interrupted on the North / south side, and / or the west / east side from Northshore to south shore, it be wide open. Not many Loons out and about, this be a bad sign, we saw 2 or 3 along the trestles Very relaxing, quiet, soothing, peaceful, beautiful evening with one hell of a sun set. Get some fishing time in before the weekend, seems the weather may not be at its best for fishing Learn what learn can about fishing Lake P, and the secrets of trolling the trestles Me was looking to meet another one of those BIG girls that hang around the trestles, looking for the twin of the one me caught the other day. The lure of the BIG girls, in can become addictive, once you have experience it, all you want is one more hit, to feel the strike, best feeling in the world. Find a spot # with the seven fundamentals / criteria of catching:          WIND AT YOUR BACK: (This criteria, not important with this techniques we use today, wind has no factor on it.) MOVING WATER: (Rising when we got there, rising when we left, me think so, it could have been the wind pushing it, had some foam on top of the water, when this happens me think the tide is slack or dead, but it was moving.) WATER CALRITY: (Not to me liking, 3 minus it be, but it was very fishable that is all that counts) HOLDING FISH: (North draw to the second sign that indicates how many feet to bridge, both caught right in that zone) west side of trestles PATIENTS: ( We were in position at 3:30, did not get a hit or catching anything until 4:41 PM, after that, not bites, so we needed some patients, but the sun set kept us busy and alert to any hits we might have gotten.) SKILL: (Knowledge, & memory, we had made a past from bridge all the way out to FB- 8 nothing, says me pick up lets go, Big PJ not felling like going in so says he can we fish from 5 minutes on the north side of the bridge, no problem says me. As we riding back in, it hit me, there was a time when we trolled with an incoming tide, and we could not get a hit fishing close to the trestles. We moved away from the trestles 15 to 20 yards and trolled, so me says let’s give it a try here. It was not long before Big PJ hooked up, we made another past another NMR Silverwonder, made 2 more passes nothing. But by changing our strategy & technique we, let’s say Big PJ found 2 that wanted to join him for dinner.) LUCK: (No rod & reels lost, got to see great sunset) Anchor up cast & retrieve slowly along the bottom, with a twitch every now and then, tight lining…………………………………NOTHING Drift with the wind cast & retrieve (DWWC&R)……………DID NOT TRY Oak River Troll (ORT)………………..DID ONT TRY Reverse Oak River Troll (RORT) ………..DID NTO TRY Oak River Skim (ORS) ……………DID NOT TRY Cork ……..DID NOT TRY Lake P Troll (LPT)…………….ALL FISH CUAGHT THIS WAY Dead bait………NONE Live bait…………………NONE ·      LURE DU JOURE: 3” H&H Purple Beetle, matched up with H&H ¼ oz. round white head with gold hook…………….DID NOT TRY 3” Chartreuse Glow Beetle, matched up with H&H ¼ oz. round white head w/gold hook………….DID NOT TRY Matrix Shad Lemon Drop, matched up with H&H ¼ oz. round white head w/gold hook……………DID NOT TRY Matrix Shad Lemon Drop, matched up with H&H 3/8 oz. round white head w/gold hook……………DID NOT TRY Matrix Shad Lemon Drop, matched up with H&H 1/2 oz. round white head w/gold hook……………DID NOT TRY Matrix Shad Lemon Drop, matched up with 3/4 oz. round lead head …………ALL FISH CAUGHT WITH THIS LURE / RIG!! Marker 54 hard plastic shrimp……….. DID NOT TRY AREAS / SPOTS / NUMBERS OF THE MAP FISHED: North draw, west side, out to FB-8, made one pass nothing, north of bridge to FB-5 to FB-4 nothing OUR REWARDS: Lived to fish another day (2) (NMR)Silverwonders (4) Pilings (4) Bottoms (1) Popped line Learned more about fishing Lake P & tolling of Lake P Quick easy trip Relax time Fresh cool air in me lungs Viewing of a beautiful sunset Seeing Big PJ hook up & catch 2, made me day Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one. FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY: There is no doubt today, Big PJ caught twice as many as Oneofthepack, he be fisherperson of the day, but more impressing than that we did not lose any rods & reels today, and he improved his ratio of fish to poles by one, so it was like a tri-factor type performance, he be Fisherperson of the day. SUGGESTIONS: Speed (1.4 to 1.6 mph) , amount of line out, boat position, (distance from trestles) boat angle to trestles, and playing Russian roulette with the trestles, (if you not hooking up on them now and then, and / or hooking up on bottom now & then, you not doing it right) are the combinations / technique / presentation needed when trolling Lake P. Lure, we use a ¾ oz. round lead head with a short shank hook, (Buy them at GUS) we string on a Matrix Shad Lemon Drop on it. We like a bait caster reel, a stiff rod, 6# power pro with a 12-16” 15-20# mono leader. We drop (drop me say) lure over the side still it hits bottom, me keep me thumb on the spool, twitch twitch, immediately after twitch me take me thumb off spool and let line out to let lure fall faster, me keep doing this to me feel bottom and/or pilings.  We always keep working lure with a twitch forward. Never twitch with a free spool a mess you will have, birds nest too. PONDER OF THE DAY: It takes patience to catch, it takes skill to pretend you’re catching. O & A: Why are fisherpersons so susceptible to magical thinking? TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem: Me no not when, Me no not where, Me no not how, but me know it will be, cause fishing just happens. Good Fishing Team Jo-Jo & Oneofthepack

Lake P round 2

5049154896
TEAM JO-JO: Plane a trip today (Tuesday)  with Big PJ aboard the Bay Flat Jr for this morning, but had to cancel out late last night, had another commitment come up that me wanted to address. But the day is 24 hours long, and when opportunity comes up you need to take advantage of it, so me called Big PJ on the way home, says me hooking the boat up, says him what time, told him me would pick him up in about an hour for an evening run at the elusive Silverwonders on our round 2 of fishing Lake P. SIGNS: Tough night sleeping too many things on me mind Loved the game last night , maybe that what kept me up Took care of a few things in the AM Hooked up the Bay Flat Jr, long 30 second ride to Big PJ abode to pick him up Another 10 minutes and we at Tites, 10 minutes later we in the honey hole. Everything shaping up to be a great trip, for round 2 CONDITIONS: Perfect Wind calm, then 2-3 mph from the west, clam, no wind, when we left the lake looked like one big mirror Flat seas, surface like glass Sunny & clear Mild to warm temps Water level down 10-14” Water temp, guess 58F Tide falling all day, sowed down a little around 3:50 PM Water clarity on a scale of 1-7: FB 1.5 back to shore a 7 FB 2 out a 3, real sandy looking Saw 4-6 boats out and about, they came out, but did not stay long, had 2 boast trolling plus us. Loons, (not Camagrants and/or comogrants as you like to spell them) it seems Oneofthepack failed bird watching, what me thought was Camagrants, is actually Looms, either way me like when me see them out and about, and this evening they were out and about all over the place. Pelicans cruising the area Some bait in the wat TECHNIQUE / STRATEGY: Be safe Have fun Put some run time on Bay Flat Jr. and Yamaha Nightmare Machine This be me daily therapy for ALL me aliments Gather Intel for future trips, and to share with fisherperson, (on rodnreel.com) to help assist them in their choice of areas to fish, lures to use and presentation of same to the elusive Silverwonders. MOVING WATER: (Falling when we got there, falling when we left, but slowed down a lot around 3:45 PM) WATER CALRITY: (Falling tide which me like when fishing Lake P, strong at first then tapered off as the evening went along.) HOLDING FISH: (Scattered out one here and one there, but all south of the north draw, west side of trestles) PATIENTS: ( Some needed, it was a slow process, with lulls between hits / catches) SKILL: (Mastering the speed of the boat, amount of line out, distance from trestles, and having the feel of the lure , bottom, and pilings) LUCK: (Me never have to go, (go, you know go) but today was different, me had to go in a bad way, turned the Bay Flat Jr north made a “B: line to the launch, ripped off me jump suited, and wouldn’t you know it, fish god took care of me, she had a portlets waiting for me at the launch, now if that is not luck, me don’t have any luck.) DID NOT TRY AREAS / SPOTS / NUMBERS OF THE MAP FISHED: Lake P, FB-2 to FB-10 along the trestles in Lake P OUR REWARDS: Lived to fish another day (6) (NMR) Silverwonders, (1) 3# plus made me day, me first mate did not email me the pictures of our trip, (left me camera home me thought) so posted what me had. Relaxing evening on the water Seeing and having the sun beat down on me face, it has been awhile, need to get me tan back Learned how the pro do it, tide to stop at 16:00 hours, (as per tide chat) pro shows up around 3:15 to start his day, me like this strategy. Loveoftheapck had some great left over Gumbo for us for lunch, 2 bowls later me on me way to go fish. Fishing with Big PJ, he be one of the best fisherperson me know. Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one. FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY: Big PJ came out swinging, is was somewhat like the game last night, he jumped out to a 3 nothing lead, and it only took him 15 minutes to hook up on his first Silverwonder of the day. Me though me was going to be involved in a blowout fishing trip, but seems he had a little trouble getting the first 2 in the boat / box, as he lost them reeling in and/or at the boat. These 2 misses left the door opening for Oneofthepack to catch up, tie-up, and then pass up me first mate. SUGGESTIONS: We had a mishap, in the process of removing fish, a rod & reel ($350.00 plus) was dropped over the side while taken a fish off and putting it in the box. As a suggestion, (when in a small boat & trolling) you might want to tie a line on your rig, so as if they are dropped over the side you can retrieve them. I have had 2-3 fisherperson drop me rod & reels over the side, but this be when me fishing with a $20.00 special for rod, reel, and line, no big deal, but me meself have never dropped a rig overboard. Yes me have lost a few from fish taken it out of the boat, when fishing with sliding corks, me had quite a few go over, but for the most part me was right over the side to get it, me, may have lost 3-4 in me fishing life time. The cost of rigs today, one cannot afford to lose them for sure, take care. PONDER OF THE DAY: In three words me can sum up everything me learned about fishing: It goes on. O & A: The aged old question………….How many fish do you get per pole? TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem: Me of in the AM, know not where, but just off Good Fishing Team Jo-Jo & Oneofthepack

Big Andrew long awaited reel made it to me home Did not take long to schedule / arrange a fishing trip Huston we have a problem, Sonofthepack borrowed me tuck over the weekend, he text Loveoftheapck an assured her it would be back in time for me to go fishing, but as 6 AM rolled around no truck. So Loveoftheapck had to get up and drive me over to Big Andrew abode for our fishing trip. Not good, & not a good sign. Big Andrew had the ALWAYS, (name of his boat) ready. Motor running waiting for me to show up Off we went in the cold of the night morning, neither one of us like running at night, so we took it slow This be when me find out trolling motor down, one bad battery, not good, not good sign We set up just north of FB 2, turned ALWYS around heading south Big Andrew drops over a sea anchor / sock, ALWAYS comes to a complete stop and me cannot steer to starboard. This sea anchor / sock could stop the Titanic from moving, it had to be 5-6 foot diameter. Says me cannot turn, says he speed up, we now almost on a plan, and me still cannot get ALWAYS to turn, made a first mate decision fast, and suggested, demanded we nix the sea anchor. Next up 5 gallon bucket, but this too proved not to be the answer to slow down ALWAYS, she traveling 2.3 to 2.7 MPH a full 1 to 1.4 MPH to fast. Next up stop and go, go a little ways put in neutral, put in forward, put in neutral, this not work either, so se deiced to just troll at 2.1 MPH Fished / trolled from 6:40 to 9:10 not a bite, hit, nibble did we get CONDITIONS: Perfect N.E wind 4-6 mph perfect, turn to north 4-6 mph still perfect Cool temps Sunny & clear Water temp 55.47F Water level down 8-10” Tide falling real slow Water clarity on a scale of 1-7 FB-2 to mile marker 174 a 3 minus FB-2 to Northshore a 6 plus Saw 3-4 boats out & about, they came out after we arrived in our starting spot Had a couple 2 Camagrants diving but not much action Did not see many Pelicans either No bait in the water, water just flat with no action   TECHNIQUE / STRATEGY: Be safe Have fun Put some run time on ALWAYS and Yamaha Dream Machine This be me daily therapy for ALL me aliments Gather Intel for future trips, and to share with fisherperson, (on rodnreel.com) to help assist them in their choice of areas to fish, lures to use and presentation of same to the elusive Silverwonders. Give Big Andrew new reel a try, but we did not bring out with us See if they would take live shrimp Be on a search and conquer mission along Big Buds (aka Eastofmrgo’s) favorite 5 mile reef. HOLDING FISH: (They were all over the screen, schools of them, herds of them, flocks of them, just all over the depth / fish finder screen) PATIENTS: ( Needed plenty, 2 ½ hours fishing / trolling and not a bite perseverance along with patients was needed today.) SKILL: (Speed, speed, speed, of boat, me think this too was a big cause of lack of bites, but we go back in the am tomorrow, in Bay Flat Jr, we will see if speed had anything to do with toady’s results.) FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY: Two fisherperson in the other boast trolling, they had (2) Silverwodners, me way of thinking it was a great trip for them. SUGGESTIONS: Big Gus has a nice shipment of ¾ oz. lead color round short shank jig heads, better stock up on them while they last, match them up with the Matrix Shad lemon drop for Silverwonders action along the trestles. We all having high hopes / expectations, like 15 Redworries, and 75 Silverwonders. We could smell them on the way out, it was perfect day, perfect timing, can’t miss type day!!!!! SIGNS: Meet up at Waffle House in Chalmette 5:30. No wild life sightings along Hwy 11 or 90 Perfect time, by the time we loaded up the Bay flat Sr, stopped at Leonel for ice and go juice, first light am up and we could see to run around. Past on McDonnel & Last stop food store. Not many boats on Hwy, gas stations, and launch, it was a very lonely feeling out and about today. Check point Abel, water level up 12-14” good sign Check point Bravo, tide falling at Reggio Canal, good sign Found a package from Santa in the Bay Flat Sr, me need to know who gave Santa me name, and what a gift????????????????????? Bay Flat Sr low in the slings, know me left her high, maybe the mother cat is lowered her to get her kittens in and out Picked up 4th crew member at Lionel’s, but he did not last long, we were not to his likening. Try and find the elusive Silverwonders. Help reduce the Redworrier population Find a spot # with the seven fundamentals / criteria of catching:          WIND AT YOUR BACK: (We positon the Bay Flat Sr to have the wind at our back, it made excellent casters of us all, we relay got some good distance on our cast, so much so, we caught the shoreline a few times, wind not a factor) MOVING WATER: (Had plenty falling all day, it seemed to slow down around 1 PM) WATER CALRITY: (This still be the biggest challenge at Delacroix, it just does not look right / good, but me cannot figure out what causing eh water to look so, it is mind boggling it be.) HOLDING FISH: (No place, one or two here and there, if me had to spick a spot it would be # 60, most fish caught there. PATIENTS: ( Needed plenty today, to keep the crew n the game, me knew they wanted to try there honey hole in around Lake John, so we made a 30 minute run and gave it an hour, Big Lucy caught the only Redworrier there, this put her ahead by one.) SKILL: (Positon the Bay Flat Sr to have the wind at our back, knowledge of a few Redworrier honey holes, with a E.N.E. wind, and determination to make it happen.) OUR REWARDS: Lived to fish another day (0) Silverwonders as far as we know they still very much elusive (4) Redworries (1) Rat (1) Bass (2) Catfish (2) Crabs (3) popped lines bottoms (4) Shorelines (3) Tangled lines Snacks & drinks as provide by Big Don & Big Lucy Learned Big Lucy Redworrier spot / honey hole Watching Big Lucy fight the BIG Redworrier Seeing an American eagle Ducks flying everywhere Brown & white Pelicans diving in Skippy Bay Ran aground in one of me old spot numbers, very skinny water it be Spending the day on the water with 2 of the best fisherperson me know, Big Lucy & Big Don Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one. FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY: Big Don jumped out first, Ret Red, Bass, catfish, but after that he was done for the day, it be not enough to get the honors for today, and even his top secret honey hole could not help him advance in the standings. Oneofthepack caught one and done, that be it. Big Lucy caught the biggest & most Redworries, and both of them made it into the box, will be dressed later for her salad. She be Fisherperson of the day, and she was real humble about it, NOT!!!!!!!!trash talk for a lady is no different then trash talk from a man, she was elated, and was not shy about letting Big Don & Oneofthepack know about her accomplishment, and the lack there of ours. Big Don & Oneofthepack feel it will be a short lived high, because next time out ladies don’t come first, she be our equal now, and may the best man win. SUGGESTIONS: Me lost for words, have no clue on what is taken place down in our Disney World known as Delacroix Island. Today (conditions) should have been a Silverwonders slam, however not even a bite, tap, hit, bump from single solitary Silverwonder. And the Redworries had lock jaw, they moved from our successful locations of the past 2 months. Live shrimp maybe could have made a difference, but me think not, it could have been the fisherpersons, but me think not, me think it is climate change that has impacted the cycle / life of the Silverwodners and Delacroix Island fishery. What say U????? PONDER OF THE DAY: Never tell your problems to a fisherperson…20% don’t care and the other 80% are glad you have them… O & A: If you get cheated by Mother Nature, who do you complain to? TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem: Off the water till Monday and then some!!!!!!!!!! Good Fishing Team Jo-Jo & Oneofthepack

Bringing in 2019 Lake P way

5049154896
TEAM JO-JO: Trip today was a trip of destiny, just had to bring in the new year of 2019 with catching some Silverwonders on day one of the year. Me thought me was going to have to do it solo, but Big Don was looking to make a trip to our Disney World known as Delacroix Island, but me talked him into a trip aboard the Bay Flat Jr, to Big Bud’s (aka Eastofmrgo) favorite 5 mile reef, trestles along the train bridge in Lake P. SIGNS: Went to bed early 11:30 skipped the party at Daughterofthepack, me not feeling good, and me finger was experiencing a little hurt. Went to bed early, did not even hear the fireworks Up at 4 AM for our 6 AM meet up Stuck me head out of the door hoping / looking for fog, had liquid fog it be Had to leave Big Lucy home, Bay Flat Jr a 2 person boat, not good. Made a stop for ice & snacks, bought one of those fried apple pies, one that is trying to replace Hubie, forget, it did not even have any apple in it, wasted $2.85. Made it to the launch, just sat in truck to see what the rain was going to do, Big don looked at his watch 6:35 it be, pulled up backed Bay Flat Jr done the launch, got all our gear situated, and launched her. One pull on the Yamaha Nightmare Machine to start her up, she must have still been hot from yesterday trip. Once again it be raining as we left the dock, not a good sign. Before you know it, all 2 minutes of a boat ride we in the 5 mile honey hole. CONDITIONS: Perfect North wind 4-5 MPH, perfect it be Light ripples on the water, perfect be it Cloudy & overcast all morning / day Must have went through 6-8 rain clouds, but it be only drizzling, not hard rain Rain most of the day, and rain went we stopped fishing at 1:00 Pm Mild temps Kept me jumpsuit on all day, even put me rain jacket on to stop from getting to wet Water level same as yesterday up 12-14” Tide falling all morning Water temp 61F Water clarity on a scale of 1-7 was a 4 plus, clean, clear, but sandy looking, you could see the lure down 12 – 14” Had a lot of plants / pods on top of the water from FB-1 to FB-4, Lake P was loaded with the stuff, anyone know what you call them? Camagrants where out in full force talking to one another, me started to answer them, but me ting we don’t speak the same language. No boats out and about had the whole area to ourselves, around noon they started to show up, had 4-5 out and about, and did not see them catch anything.   TECHNIQUE / STRATEGY: Be safe Have fun Put some run time on Bay Flat Jr. and Yamaha Nightmare Machine, one pull to start her today. This be me daily therapy for ALL me aliments Gather Intel for future trips, and to share with fisherperson, (on rodnreel.com) to help assist them in their choice of areas to fish, lures to use and presentation of same to the elusive Silverwonders. Introduce Big Don To Lake P fishing To Lake P rig, 3/4oz. round lead jig head with Matrix Shad Lemon drop lure To the best rod, reel & line to use for Lake P trolling To Lake P trolling technique To Lake P Silverwonders Keep up me continuing education of the ways of fishing / caching in Lake P Locate and identify under water hooks ups, as to miss them on future trolling Catch some fish so Big Lucy will have something to put in all her salads, as me understand it, her inventory of fish at an all-time low. Achieve me quest to catch fish / Silverwonders on the 1st day of the New Year Find a spot # with the seven fundamentals / criteria of catching:          WIND AT YOUR BACK: (This criteria not a factor today, north wind perfect direction to move us along the trestles, and if we had to cast, it still would not have an impact on fishing with lures) MOVING WATER: (Falling all day, seem to get a little stronger as the day went along, it kept of jig heads bouncing off of the trestles pilings, even some times helping us hook up on them) WATER CALRITY: (Me think it was a little off, yesterday, it black, clear, and clean the way me like it, today had that sandy look to it, me think this criteria added to the challenge of catching today.) HOLDING FISH: (FB 2 to FB 5, west side of trestles) PATIENTS: ( Did not take long for the first bite, then 2 came in the boat within 15 minutes of our start, but after that we earned whatever we caught, slow and steady, always 1 or 2 on a troll from FB 2 – FB 5, we trolled both north & south direction back & forth along the west side of the trestles.) SKILL: (Mastering the combination of speed, amount of line out, presentation, angel to trestles, and playing Russian Roulette with the pilings, and not hook up on them) LUCK: (Archive our 2019 quest for day one of the new year) Anchor up cast & retrieve slowly along the bottom, with a twitch every now and then, tight lining…………………………………WE GAVE THIS A SHOT AS A BREAK, NOT EVEN A BITE HAD WE Drift with wind & cast & retrieve:…………….DID NOT TRY Oak River Troll (ORT)………………..DID ONT TRY Reverse Oak River Troll (RORT) ………..DID NTO TRY Oak River Skim (ORS) ……………DID NOT TRY Cork ……..DID NOT TRY Lake P Troll (LPT)…………….ALL SILVERWONDERS CAUGHT THIS WAY   Dead bait………NONE Live bait…………………NONE ·      LURE DU JOURE: 3” H&H Purple Beetle, matched up with H&H ¼ oz. round white head with gold hook…………….DID NOT TRY 3” Chartreuse Glow Beetle, matched up with H&H ¼ oz. round white head w/gold hook………….DID NOT TRY Matrix Shad Lemon Drop, matched up with H&H ¼ oz. round white head w/gold hook……………DID NOT TRY Matrix Shad Lemon Drop, matched up with H&H 3/8 oz. round white head w/gold hook……………NOTHING Matrix Shad Lemon Drop, matched up with H&H 1/2 oz. round white head w/gold hook……………DID NOT TRY Matrix Shad Lemon Drop, matched up with 3/4 oz. round lead head ……………(7) CAUGHT WITH THIS LURE & POWER PRO LINE (2) CAUHT WITH PURPEL & LEAD CORE LINE Marker 54 hard plastic shrimp……….. DID NOT TRY AREAS / SPOTS / NUMBERS OF THE MAP FISHED: Lake P FB-2 to FB-5 west side of trestles. OUR REWARDS: Lived to fish another day (9) NMR Silverwonders BIG fish popped our line Lost one reeling in 9 pilings w/ 5 popped lines (3) Bottoms 2 popped lines (1/2) bushel of grass Bay Flat Jr got a good washing from the rain Rain negated me from having to take a bath tonight Cool, humid, wet day on the water, what a feeling, felt so good, so alive No snacks, no drinks, no food, we on mission to catch our 2019 day 1 fish. Got some salad makers for Big Lucy Got to see Big Don catch his first Lake P Silverwonder Got to see Big Don catch his first Silverwonder doing the Lake P troll Got to see Big don face, (priceless) when he hooked up on pilins, he sets the hook reel good on those Spending the day o eh water with one of the best fisherperson me know, Big Don be that Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one. FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY: Lest just say it be Big Don with this technique / presentation, and that he not be  Big PJ, but it will not take long for Big don catch up with Big PJ & Oneofthepack. SUGGESTIONS: If you gong you give trolling a try, stay with, stay the course and believe you can make it happen. PONDER OF THE DAY: The trick in fishing is learning how to deal with it. O & A: Is it better for a fisherperson to have a broad knowledge base or a deep knowledge base? TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem: Work tomorrow, Big Don & Big Lucy, Bay Flat Sr, we be heading Delacroix way Thursday, we want to confirm reports of Silverwodners being caught that way, until then: Good Fishing Team Jo-Jo & Oneofthepack

Lake P closing out 2018

5049154896
TEAM JO-JO: Me just had to end 2018 with catching a Silverwonder, laid in bed in the early AM what to do what to do. Checked the Rodnreel.com posting, after reading Don’s Outdoor Debacles report and his encountered Sunday with the fog down in our Disney World known as Delacroix Island this not be an option.  Me checked the weather in Lake P and the tide chart for Slidell, both looking good. Stuck me head out the door, fog , this be what me been looking for, now me only  one concerned it be the condition of the water, and me know “YOU GOT TO GO TO KNOW” so go me did. SIGNS: End of year challenge Next up begging of year challenge 2019, need to catch a Silverwonder tomorrow, me like to start new year off with a Silverwonder, that mean me catch them all year. Loveofthepack & Daughterofthepack made the hot tamales last night, cook them today for party tonight. Me got a break did not have to help with hot tamales, me had a procedure done (urgent care) on me with finger, me did the surgery on meself, but things got worst fast and Loveofthepack mandated me go to doctor, or no fishing. After one week with Jo-Jo II, me gave her back to Daughterofthepack, we not ready for a puppy at our stage of life. She is a beautiful puppy, and my daughter gave me the best x-mas gift that should could have ever imagine. But she could never ever replace Jo-Jo, I want to remember those memories not try to duplicate and/or create new ones. Our only hope is that she will get a great home and they will give her the life she deserves. Very tough decision, me made it alone. Needed some alone time, where better to spend it them on the water. CONDITIONS: Perfect E. wind 10-12 mph steady 2 ½ to 3 ½ foot waves, Bay Flat Jr had lots of ups & downs, but did not take on any water. Waves did run me in trolled for about an hour, left them biting. Fog, did not last long wind took care of it Partly cloudy, nasty looking clouds in the S.E. coming me way Raining on me on the way out, did not last long, me need to start bring me rain gear with me Mild temps, jump suite on to keep rain off me Water temp 60F Water level up 18-22” Tide falling Water clarity on a scale of 1-7 was a 6 plus, dark, clean, clear, perfect it be No boats out and about me be it all alone had the trestles all to meself.   TECHNIQUE / STRATEGY: Be safe Have fun Put some run time on Bay Flat Jr. and Yamaha Nightmare Machine, took 8 pulls to get her started. This be me daily therapy for ALL me aliments Gather Intel for future trips, and to share with fisherperson, (on rodnreel.com) to help assist them in their choice of areas to fish, lures to use and presentation of same to the elusive Silverwonders. Confirm verify on site conditions Close out 2018 with me last Silverwodners for the year See if the big girls showed up yet along the trestles, me like what me caught, this maybe the time to be trolling Lake P Find a spot # with the seven fundamentals / criteria of catching:          WIND AT YOUR BACK: (Had a cross wind on a 45 degree angle, made for a 3 foot bow in me line, made it tough to feel the bottom, me just kept leaving line out until me felt it hit the pilings, then me reeled in a little to keep it off the pilings, wind a big factor on today’s outing.) MOVING WATER: (Appeared to be falling, had to keep the Bay Flat Jr a little further from the trestles so as not to hook up on them, it is a fine line between speed, enough line out, and staying as close to the pilings as possible) WATER CALRITY: (Best of the best, perfect, cannot find any better looking / clarity water) HOLDING FISH: (Between FB 2 & 3 both Silverwodners caught along that stretch) PATIENTS: ( Took all of 12 minutes to catch the first one, me heading south, waves to much so me turned a round at FB 4, and trolled north, it almost the same spot caught the last one, waves ran me in) SKILL: (Learning the combination, weight of lure, speed of boat, amount of line let out, distance from trestles, side of trestles to troll, (me like west side) and direction of trolling (i.e. north or south), this be the skill needed.) LUCK: (No get wet, no take on water, me got me last Silverwonder for 2018 Anchor up cast & retrieve slowly along the bottom, with a twitch every now and then, tight lining…………………………………DID NOT TRY Oak River Troll (ORT)………………..DID ONT TRY Reverse Oak River Troll (RORT) ………..DID NTO TRY Oak River Skim (ORS) ……………DID NOT TRY Cork ……..DID NOT TRY Lake P Troll (LPT)…………….ALL FISH CUAGHT THIS WAY!! DID NOT TRY AREAS / SPOTS / NUMBERS OF THE MAP FISHED: Lake P between FB 2 & 3 OUR REWARDS: Lived to fish another day (2) NMR Silverwonders (2) Pilings No popped lines Me quest for end of 2018 Plenty fresh air Alone time on the water Quick trip with some good results & intel Made a shoreline fisherperson day, gave him the Silverwonders, know they made his day, and me sure he will sue them to make someone else’s day, play it forward! Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one. FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY: It was almost a tie, if me had caught one more it would have been a tie, between me, meself, & I. SUGGESTIONS: Fishing Lake P is tough to fish, even tougher to catch, you have so many variables to concern yourself with, (i.e. wind, tide, current, current lines, water clarity, weather, boats & fish location, etc.) unlike other areas (i.e. Delacroix) you can move around and find the conditions you are looking for. You can run around and  get out of the wind, find moving water, located a current line, find clean water, get out of the weather, and not have to fight those elements during your trip. But me here to tell you, when you get that hit / catch (3# Silverwonder) trolling along the trestles, Lake P fishing gets into your blood, you become addicted to the quest of dancing with as many Silverwodners as you can, and are happy to dance with just one, it be such a feeling like no other in my 286 memory bank. PONDER OF THE DAY: To fish is one of the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all. O & A: What does the ideal fishing trip look like? TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem: Me be off in the AM, (know not ware) looking for me 2019 Silverwonder to start the New Year off right. Hope all your trips in 2019 are the beast trip of your life, until the next one. Happy New Year & Good Fishing Team Jo-Jo & Oneofthepack
