A reminder that this coming Saturday, March 4, the Red Stick Fly Fishers will hold their annual conclave at the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries’ Waddill Outdoors Education Center on 4142 North Flannery Road in Baton Rouge.
Time is 9am to 4pm. The event is free, and open to the public. Refreshments and a jambalaya lunch will be provided.
There are programs on marsh redfish, bream techniques, and western trout rivers and mountain trout fishing, as well as the exciting world of fishing from PADDLECRAFT (canoes and kayaks). There will even be kayak tryouts from 9am to 1pm.
For those interested in learning the sport, there will be casting coaches to teach you to cast a fly rod, and provide tips on equipment.
Special guest speaker is nationally renown angler Craig Mathews who has appeared on NBC Today show, written 5 books and produced 3 videos, and will be doing a world premiere of his latest video at 1pm!!!
