Why is CCA for smaller limits on speckled trout, when the biologists say it is not needed and why is CCA against smaller limits for red snapper when the biologists say they are needed?

Didn't CCA make an issue that science should drive conservation issues when they pushed to have nets outlawed? What has changed?

Ketchum,
If you figure out what CCA's motive is in pushing for lower limits on specks please let me know, because I can see no logic in it. This I do know...if those of us who are against this change do not become very vocal, then the 15 trout limit coastwide is as good as a done deal. And once it's lowered it will never be raised again. Please email members of the Commission and tell them you are against this and why. I am trying to get as many people as I can to comment on this. We have until April 6th.
Thanks,

Oh yeah!!

You can find the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commissioners' email addresses on the LDWF web site. http://www.wlf.state.la.us/

I know for a fact these guys read their emails.

Thanks Ketchum! I hope lots of folks are sending these guys emails.

Also, we should be sending emails to Mr. Harry Blanchet at LDWF. He is the fisheries guy in charge of accepting the public comments.

Here's his email address; hblanchet@wlf.louisiana.gov.

If we keep up the pressure we just might stop this.

Keith

I think that we need to make our legislators aware of what is going on with the WFC..everyone should email their rep. and senator AND send an email to each person on the House and Senate Natural Resources committee. The LWFC must listen to the legislature or face being replaced. I don't have the email addresses for the committees, but will look it up and post it in the reports section..maybe it will stay up..

Good idea! Here's the link to the House & Senat members addresses. You can find them all there.
