I keep hearing about "The Hole" in Lake Pont.Saw it mentioned in last Fridays fishing reports in the TP (guess that will go away too)and have heard it mentioned around here. I know of several "holes" in the lake, but are they talking about a specific location?

There has been "a hole" (40'-50' deep) for at least the past 50 years located to the northwest of the Seabrook Launch about one to one & quarter miles...but about a half to 3/4 miles off the steps/seawall. There is another hole (about 75 yds.) off to the northeast of the catwalk of the airport runway...usually filled with trash---busted trawls/boards, crab traps, huge oyster shells, etc... I know of that one. How about out from the Kenner boat launch?
There was one just off the South Shore from Irish Bayou near the Twin Spans(I-10). Many years since I've been to that area.
The one I've heard mention off must be popular still. The one near Seabrook is usually called "Seabrook"

Just saw the hole mentioned in the TP fishing reports under the Chef heading. Sure wish I knew where they were talking about. Not that these reports are the most accurate, but they give you a starting point. I notice Port Sulphur isn't even mentioned any more.

There is a "hole' at the mouth of Chef Pas into lake Borgne. During the early winter months we used to trawl through there taking turns for 200-400 lbs. of flounders. Have you hear of THE MINUTES? John Castelluccio, Jr.
