Anyone know of a business which sells fresh made beef jerky (pound, half-pound, quarter-pound, etc...) anywhere locally? There was a great place in Des Allemands (Hwy. 90) named Bowie Junction that apparently has fallen on hard times...closed almost for two years now. John Castelluccio, Jr.

| Bourgeois Meat Market 543 West Main Thibodaux 985-447-7128 sells some kinda expensive thou but worth it. |

John try the next gun show ... There is a coupe that is usually at every show around here that makes their own ... They have nearly a dozen diffrent flavors ...

Bourgeois' in Thibodeaux is one of the best jerky I have ever eaten. They use USDA sirlion. Its smoked in thier own smokehouse. Furthermore, at $20.00 a pound is actually cheap compared to the price that is paid at the grocery for those 2oz packages.

George Del.: The business named Bowie Junction in Des Allemandes was selling it at $24./lb. They have their own butcher area, own smoke house, etc...for some reason folded! I agree that the price of jerky in the bags (Jack Links)are astronomical! (smoked rubber taste...great commercials w/Big Foot) John Castelluccio, Jr.
PS...How far off of Hwy. 90 and Raceland turn to Grand Isle is the store in Thibodeaux????

Exit Hwy 24 "Exit by the State Police Station on Hwy 90"
Take a right and Head toward Shrieyer once you cross the Big Bridge go about 1 to 2 miles look to your left. You'll need to pass it up and cross over the Bayou to make a U turn heading back to Hwy 90

jacobs in laplace (email original@ jacobs andouille.com)they will ship it to you so you will have more fishing time!!!!!!
they also have the best gumbo mix(i have used it when pressed for time)no one could beleive that the gumbo was a prepared mix).
their website has a full price list the jerky lists at 4.75# kinda pricey but good product. located at 505 airline in laplace,they been smoking meats since the 1920's
