ATHENS, Texas -- Nearly every Texan knows someone who deserves to be
recognized for significant contributions to the sport of fishing. Now's your
chance to let others know about that fishing legend.
The public is encouraged to submit nominations to the Texas Freshwater
Fishing Hall of Fame until Jan. 31. One nominee will be chosen by an independent
selection committee and inducted into the Hall of Fame during the annual
banquet, which will be May 17.
The Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame is housed at the Texas Freshwater
Fisheries Center in Athens. It honors anglers, fisheries professionals and
organizations that have made a lasting contribution to fishing in Texas.

fishing show host, was honored for her contribution to youth and women's
education. Prior inductees include Floyd Mabry, Jackie Hewlett, R.D. Hull, Bob
Kemp, Sugar Ferris, Charles Inman, Leonard Ranne, and the Sabine River
Authority.
