COLD WEATHER FISHING…
Yesterday I had the pleasure of guiding first time customers from West Virginia, Mr. Jamisson and Will Ygland. The weather had been brutally cold since Sunday night and the water temperatures reflected that. When we left the dock at 10 am it registered 40 degrees on my depth finder and reached about 42 in the afternoon. The redfish had gone deep as we expected and were bunched up when we finally found them. We put 15 nice ones in the box and played catch and release for a while before calling it a day around 3:30 in the afternoon. Dead shrimp on jigheads and H&H soft plastics worked well. The fish had baitfish in their bellies which is encouraging, meaning they are eating and finding food in spite of the cold weather. Thanks again to the Yglands for a great day on the water spent with nice folks. We look forward to their return!
