It’s been a crazy few days down at Sweetwater. The water is so high. It probably went down 4-5 inches. One thing is the water is real salty. This is the saltiest we’ve seen it in a year, if not longer. No doubt, this high water has pushed in a tremendous amounts of speckled trout and redfish. A few went out and caught good numbers of fish. Yesterday evening off the point, a boat destroyed the trout. Not sure what the weather is gonna be this weekend. If you have a camper or boat down here, I would advise you to watch the weather very closely. Yesterday the water was about 3 inches over the dock at Sweetwater. One dock is still under but the rest are now above water. With this strong east wind the water probably won’t go down much in the next few days. If this low pressure comes up in the gulf, the water is already high..so, that’s a bad thing. The water is gonna get real, real high. Pay close attention to the weather. If it comes In the gulf and heads this way, you better come get everything or you’ll probably have nothing. As soon as this weather straightens out, be prepared for some world class fishing. If the storm goes to the east, see you this weekend. We can’t wait to see you here at Sweetwater Marina! We are praying for the best outcome for all of us.
