Great day of fishing out of Sweetwater today. Captain Jack fished with Milton today, one of our number one employees. They went to catch trout, since we can’t eat meat today. They caught 37 trout. If they only had plastic, they would have only caught 4-5 trout. Captain Jack said he tried every color and every technique with the plastic. However, when he threw out a live shrimp, they bit right away. Other people had great luck today too. One group of guys had 60 trout out of the Fourhorse lake area. Another customer, fishing alone, had 20 trout around the same area. One group of guys had some monster trout..probably from Fourhorse area as well. Some guys went to Lake Amadee…3 of them had 43 trout..they said they beat some off the side of the boat and let them go. Overall, Captain Jack said the trout fishing is pretty good..especially considering the 20 mph winds. Trout tip: the trout are in the clean areas, in the clear water! Redfish seem to be biting pretty good too. The tournament guys said that they are having luck, however not quite the size they are looking for. A lot of oversized and under size for them. We have plenty live shrimp for tomorrow. Not only are the shrimp lively, but they are beautiful, perfect bait shrimp. Considering the weather forecast for today..a sixty percent chance of rain, 20 mph winds out the SE…it seemed like everything would work against our fisherman..but..no..a lot of great success for our fisherman today. Here are some pretty good pics from the action today. We still have a boat shed available. We do have newly remodeled lodging available..book now..we are booking fast. We do have a new guy, with his own food trailer, cooking down here at Sweetwater…y’all come give him a try! His food is absolutely delicious just like Chef Richy’s was!
