Capt. Jack made a quick fishing trip today and talked to a lot of our customers that came in. Capt. Jack fished with his good friends Freddy Wirstrom and Dennis Galeas. They ended up with around 21 trout. They fished from about 2:30pm until dark. Most customers had a few reds. One guy returned with 25 trout from Point Fienne. They had a couple people return with good numbers of trout today. The highest number being 40…that we know of anyways. Tomorrow should be way better than today; the water should warm up a bit more. If you have a chance to come, I would suggest coming tomorrow. Over the weekend, it’s going to go back to being bone chillingly cold again….😒 So….if you are looking for some action, it looks like tomorrow is your last chance..before it goes to crap again. Hopefully, in the near future….when it warms up again, the trout fishing should be great. There are a lot of trout still on the interior of Delacroix…however, the weather isn’t giving us fair opportunity to get on them. We have some other good news…we have a couple boat sheds available for rent…just in time for late winter and early spring fishing…all we need is the weather to warm up..the speckled trout are there. Call now. We don’t have boat sheds open up often or for very long. So, if interested, call 504-342-2368. Have your boat, conveniently, stored right here at Sweetwater…no more hauling it back and forth…no more taking up space you could be using for something else. Each boat shed has water and electricity to it. If you keep your boat stored here at Sweetwater, your launch is free. Also..if you need certain dates for lodging or charters, you should call and book asap. You don’t want to miss out on the dates you are looking for. One good thing about the cold weather this weekend…the duck hunting should be way better than it has been. Capt. Jack has been talking to a few hunters here in Delacroix that say hunting has been better for them. Seems to be a lot of green wing teal. That all being said..if you are a fisherman, hope to see you tomorrow…if you are a duck hunter, hope to see you this weekend. Either way…we can’t wait to see you here at Sweetwater Marina, the Marina that loves, cares for and appreciates their customers.
